Reiki in the Modern Age

Oct 01, 2013 05:47PM ● By Felicia McQuaid

Although its origins are unclear, the practical application of Reiki are the real focus in our modern age as a non-invasive form of energy therapy that serves to bring balance; physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, enabling the body to do what it does best—heal itself.
Reiki promotes reduction in stress and pain and can assists in accelerating the healing process from injury/illness, naturally strengthens the immune system and assists in clearing emotional or physical trauma. From the energetic perspective of health, the root of imbalance lies within the energy field of the chakras in the way that we relate to life, the way we handle stress and have processed traumas and difficulties.
Long-term imbalance leads to poor health, emotional disturbances and spiritual disconnection. Reiki is easy to learn and accessible to all. It teaches the individual to be a participant and take charge in their health and well-being. Hawayo Takata worked diligently during her time to share Reiki in the West and stated, “I want Reiki to become as common as Aspirin.”
