Pamela Purser, clinical director and co-owner of Navarre Acupuncture and Wellness, didn’t plan to open a new wellness center in the middle of a pandemic. But she says the timing couldn’t be better.

“Although most people wouldn’t consider opening a new business now, I knew my current clients needed me,” says Purser, a licensed acupuncturist who recently left Five Point Acupuncture, in Pensacola, to open the new practice. “On top of that, I knew I’d be providing an important service in Navarre, which is a bedroom community for hundreds of healthcare workers, first responders and military families.”

In particular, she said, residents needed holistic options for pain management. At Navarre Acupuncture and Wellness, she offers acupuncture, Chinese herbology, cupping therapy, moxibustion and Acupuncture Injection Therapy.  

Before the pandemic, she’d already found an ideal location between popular Navarre eateries Bella Luna Bistro and the Copper Bull. So as other businesses were temporarily closed, she opened on May 5, right on schedule. 

The center is the culmination of Purser’s lifelong mission to bridge the gap between ancient Chinese medicine and present-day medicine, providing pain-relieving treatments, supporting her patients’ recovery and maintain their health and wellness, she says.

In fact, it was through Chinese Medicine and acupuncture treatments that Purser finally found relief for debilitating fatigue and restlessness from Graves’ disease. “That’s when I vowed to expose others to this amazing form of medicine, so they too could live the happiest, healthiest lives possible,” she says. 

Purser has a master’s degree and advanced training in Traditional Oriental Medicine. She has more than 12 years of clinical experience treating people with autoimmune diseases, chronic pain and neurological disorders, and providing supportive treatment before and after elective surgery.
