Licensed Psychologist, award-winning composer and Grammy-nominated musician Michael Brandt DeMaria will perform from 5 to 9 p.m., November 18, at Ever’man Natural Foods Co-Op, as part of Pensacola’s Downtown Gallery Night. DeMaria will be playing selections from his newest CD, In The Flow, produced by Sounds True.

According to DeMaria, “When we are in emotional pain, we hold our breath, our muscles tighten and we brace ourselves against the world. We resist all change and become extremely rigid. Healing begins when we take a deep breath, release the tension in our bodies and learn to flow again.”

In addition to the Gallery Night performance, DeMaria will be starting a weekly yoga and meditation class based on his In The Flow album. The class meets Mondays, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., beginning November 7, at the Sanders Beach Community Center. Students of all levels are welcome to attend the course, which includes movement, meditation and live musical accompaniment. The fee is $10 per week.
