Local Tennis Pro Hosts Women's Tennis Challenger

Erik Stenberg, founder and president of the Swedish-American Connection that has been managing the Fort Walton Beach Tennis Center, is hosting the Women’s $25,000 Tennis Challenger, from March 3 to 11. Forty of the currently top 100 ranked women players in the world have played in this event in the last five years. The United States Tennis Association is providing funding and staff for the event.

Says Stenberg, “People come from all over to participate and watch these tournaments, and sponsorship helps to raise money for the children’s programs.” Stenberg has a “profound interest” in helping youth and offers after school programs for middle and high school students.

Stenberg has also been appointed as the Donnay Tennis Racket representative for Mississippi, Alabama and North Florida, and will be offering free clinics to allow try tennis players the opportunity to try out the new racket.
