Transform Your Life, in Pensacola, is hosting an ongoing program—Transitions: Displaced Homemakers—from 9 a.m. to noon, Mondays. Eligible women may join a new group every second Monday for a one-week class. The program is free and walk-ins are encouraged. This Transitions program is designed to help women gain the confidence and self-sufficiency needed to lead a full and productive life. It includes individual and group counseling, job placement services, education and skills training, health education, financial and legal information and social service referrals.

Eligible women are age 35 or older, have worked in a home providing household services for family members, are not adequately employed and would have difficulty securing adequate employment. Other eligibility requirements also apply. The Displaced Homemaker Program is sponsored by Emerald Coast TEAM Services, Inc. and the State of Florida through a grant administered by the Department of Economic Opportunity.
