Over the years, Children in Crisis (CIC) has long acknowledged the artistic skills of students at Liza Jackson Preparatory School. But two years ago, the overwhelming compassion of fiery, red-haired 6-year-old Landon Baugh surprised everyone. He’d heard about children in his own city that never have the joy of celebrating their birthday with a party.

Feeling blessed to have family and friends who celebrated his own special day each year; he decided to make a difference. For his seventh birthday, he asked family and friends to donate money to help other kids have a happier birthday instead of buying toys and gifts for him, calling his idea "Give a Birthday,” and 10 more children have followed in his footsteps.

Subsequent parties have raised more than $1,000 for the birthday boys and girls of Children in Crisis. Landon is so enthusiastic and giving that this year, for his eighth birthday, he raised even more money for the children of CIC.
