Free Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off in Okaloosa County

In order to divert hazardous waste from local landfills and dispose of discarded items responsibly through recycling and reuse, Okaloosa County accepts a variety of household hazardous wastes. Since 1992, more than 10,000,000 pounds of hazardous materials have been disposed of, recycled or reused, including paint, pesticides, used oil, oil filters, pool chemicals, batteries, gas, solvents, paint products, tar, automotive chemicals, fluorescent bulbs, smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, computer monitors and more.

This service is free of charge to local residents by appointment from 1 to 3 p.m., every Thursday, and from 7 to 11 a.m., every third Saturday.
