Five Unusual Weight Loss Tips

Green coffee bean extract: In addition to a sensible diet and exercise plan, green coffee bean extract can help with weight loss. The active ingredient in green coffee bean extract is chlorogenic acid, which works to inhibit the release of glucose in the body. It induces thermogenesis, speeds up metabolism and helps burn fat. Roasting coffee beans removes chlorogenic acid, so green coffee bean extract must be processed while still in a raw state. Look for a 100 percent pure green coffee bean formulation that contains at least 50 percent chlorogenic acid.

Breathing: Bhastrika is a yogic practice used to increase the “fire” within, which increases the circulation and metabolic rate, resulting in weight loss. To do this, one takes short breathes from the diaphragm, much like a bellows through the nose. Breathe for about 25 seconds per round for three rounds. Increase up to 10 rounds. Blow out a long breath after each round before beginning again.

Cleansing: Doing a quarterly cleanse helps remove debris and toxins from the body, resulting in more efficient functioning of the organs and detoxification systems in the body and colon. This results in weight loss and more energy. For a good colon cleansing drink, mix together one tablespoon of bentonite clay, one teaspoon of psyllium seed, a half-cup of organic apple juice, a half-cup of organic aloe vera juice and a half-cup of steam-distilled water. Drink daily until colon is cleansed, about two weeks.

LED light therapy: LED light helps to alleviate pain by reducing inflammation to make moving easier. It also works on the lymphatic system by flushing away toxins. It increases the adenosine triphosphate (ATP), a compound that serves as the immediate source of energy for the body’s cells, notably muscle cells. The light also produces nitric oxide, a natural vasodilator, which assists in muscle building by oxygenating and nourishing the tissue.

EFA (essential fatty acids): Contrary to the belief that fat is contraindicated for weight loss, it is instead an essential component. The good fats in fish oil, flax oil, grapeseed oil, primrose oil, avocados, almonds, walnuts and olives are excellent for assisting in weight loss because consuming them helps one to feel satiated and calms the nerves, while benefiting the body’s brain, joints and hormones.
