Dr. Tonia Shatzel, DVM, a veterinarian for more than 15 years, has opened a new pet clinic, 30A Vet, that uses the latest technology to care for pets. 30A Vet is a full-service animal hospital for dogs and cats, providing state-of-the-art services such as digital X-ray, non-anesthetic dentistry and preventive wellness blood work.

Shatzel has developed a “whole animal” philosophy and intuition that is fundamental to the care and treatment of her patients. She just doesn’t treat the symptom, but tries to find the root problem. Originally from the metro Atlanta area, Shatzel has been visiting the area for years until finally deciding to stay permanently and open a clinic. She volunteers at Alaqua Animal Refuge, in Freeport, and understands that her patients are regarded as members of the family by their owners. She couples compassion with knowledge and wisdom to provide the best possible service, and bases her practice on partnering with the pet’s owners to make the best treatment plan.
