Natural Awakenings Northwest Florida

Calling All Hippies

The Hippie Spring Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., March 22 and 23. at the Intuitive Spiritual Center, in Fort Walton Beach. These two days of music, storytelling, poetry, singing and mingling will include Cassandra Spears, life coach at the center, sharing her story about growing up on a hippie farm/commune in the 70s. There will also be aura photography, intuitive readings and merchant vendors.
Participants are encouraged to wear their best hippie threads and dreads and bring stories, poem, pictures, songs, guitars, drums, tambourines and a white T-shirt to tie-dye; or make a $10 love offering and the center will supply one. The tie-dye workshop will be complemented by Shintaedo dance, sun and spring equinox celebrations, meditation, psychic readings, aura imaging and product vendors.
There will be a potluck dinner at 5 p.m., Saturday, so bring a dish. After eating, the group will sit around the campfire, telling stories, reading poems and singing.
Jul’s Constantine, an intuitive herself and founder of the Intuitive Spiritual Center, says that she hopes the event will encourage like-minded people to come together and celebrate the peace, love and nostalgia of the hippie era. No drugs or alcohol are allowed. The festival is actively seeking additional vendors to participate in this classic event.

Public invited, under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Admission is by love offering. Location: 700 NW Pkwy., Unit D. Vendors and for more information, call 850-533-6565 or visit IntuitiveSpiritualCenter.org.
