Natural Awakenings Northwest Florida

Janet Hardy Focuses on the Caring Touch Myofacsial Release Offers

Janet Hardy, the owner of Caring Touch, in Santa Rosa Beach, just north of Grayton Beach, has been a Florida licensed massage therapist for more than 20 years. She is nationally board certified and a John F. Barnes expert level myofascial release therapist (the only one in the Panhandle) and an Usui Reiki master. After majoring in dance at the University of Wisconsin and teaching ballet, she attended the Core Institute School of Massage Therapy & Structural Bodywork, in Tallahassee, and is certified in neuromuscular therapy.

In her acquaintance with myofascial release, which began in 2000, Hardy has completed all of the courses offered by John Barnes and served as an assistant instructor at one of his seminars. Her mission is to assist people in connecting with their strengths and natural healing abilities and showing the way to a pain-free, healthy lifestyle. Caring Touch has been offering pain relief and health maintenance to all ages since 1994.

She states, “Training with Barnes taught me how to assess and treat the individual clients and their specific needs, as opposed to doing the same cookie-cutter routine on everyone. This really began to put the ‘care’ in Caring Touch.” Hardy attributes some of her success to continuing education courses she has taken beyond what is required to maintain her state and national massage licenses. “I love keeping up with and sharing with clients the latest research on the human body/mind,” she notes.

Hardy has recently been accepted by Barnes as the Northwest Florida study group leader and will be holding myofascial release group meetings for Barnes-trained therapists in the area. She says, “I plan to continue working with my current clientele and be available to treat new clients who haven’t achieved the results they were looking for with traditional therapy, medicine or surgery.” She will also be attending the Fascia Research Congress, in Washington D.C., in September, where international scientists and researchers come together biennially to share the latest research findings on fascia.

Caring Touch is located at 140 Wild Blueberry Way, in Santa Rosa Beach. For more information, contact Hardy at 850-231-9131 or [email protected].
