Natural Awakenings Northwest Florida

Market in the Breeze Expands

Open Tuesdays from 3 to 7 p.m., Market in the Breeze offers an eclectic, alfresco shopping experience with farm-fresh foods, organic produce, local honey, plants and seedlings, plus cottage creations, jewelry and art. Soon that experience will be bigger and better, says founder Daniel Dugan.

Located in the parking lot of the Gulf Breeze Community Center, the market will grow from 15 vendors to more than 60 by April, Dugan says. Its hours will also change—they’ll be 4 to 8 p.m.—and live music and movie nights will be added. “We hope people will make it a habit to stroll the market on their way to the already-popular evening events on the beach and on their way to Pensacola,” he says. “They can pick up something to eat, do a little shopping and see what’s new every week.”

Dugan recently secured a new organic meat vendor, Lazy K Farms from Holt. “The city and the mayor have been a huge support, and the important part is that people get a chance to meet the farmers and know more about where their food comes from,” he says.
