Pooch Palooza Benefits Dog Park, PAWS

The Destin Parks and Recreation Department and the Friends of the Destin Dog Park will host the second annual Pooch Palooza from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., November 12, at the dog park, located near the city annex parking lot at 4100 Indian Bayou Trail. This furry-and-family-friendly event is a fundraiser for the dog park and the Panhandle Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).

Pooch Palooza will feature agility demonstrations, games for dogs, and presentations by Pets Behave and Okaloosa K9 Unit. PAWS will be offering rabies shots for $5 and microchipping for $10, and will have dogs available for adoption. There will also be food for sale, vendors offering a wide variety of products, face painting for kids (and stencils for dogs), raffles and a silent auction.

While there is no entry fee, visitors are asked to bring a donation for PAWS, such as dog food, collars, leashes, bleach, toys or paper towels. All cash donations and vendor fees will benefit the Destin Dog Park.

For more information, visit Friends of the Destin Dog Park on Facebook. To participate as a vendor, contact Barbara Telford at 850-837-4242 or [email protected].
