Formula Fresh Expands with Destin Superfood Bar
Formula Fresh, which began three years ago as a cold-pressed juice vendor at Rosemary Farmers Market and quickly grew to include retail locations on 30A and in Sandestin, has opened a new store and superfood bar in Destin Commons. Founder Jennifer Gizzi says the larger space is convenient to most of the Panhandle and allows Formula Fresh to offer more products and services.
“During this expansion, the two smaller stores were closed and our focus shifted to offering more menu items and local delivery as well as expanding into wholesale accounts,” Gizzi says.
One of the first cold-pressed juice companies along the Panhandle, Formula Fresh also offers superfood smoothies blended with almond milk that is made fresh daily in store, a selection of organic coffees from around the world, and authentic acai bowls. The use of only whole-food ingredients, with no added sugars or preservatives, sets the business apart, she notes. “We are one of the only locations that offers true acai bowls; we do not use powder or juice, but the actual acai berry. Our cold-pressed juice is never modified for longer shelf life and is the same as consuming two to four pounds of raw greens and vegetables.”
Gizzi says she and co-owners Laura Gilmore and Dusty Vannatter are always looking for new ways to accommodate busy people who need good nutrition on the go, and they plan to launch online sales in the future with a location opening soon in Pensacola at 151 Main St.
