Pereira Hosts Essential Oils Holiday Series

Pereira Produce & Health will offer two classes on Frankincense and Myrrh essential oils—including their history, distillation process, region of origin, chemical constituents, and common physical, emotional and household uses, and the scientific research grounding their potency—December 1 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Holley by the Sea Beach House in Navarre and December 3 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Ever’man Cooperative Pensacola.

Also on December 3, Pereira Produce & Health will host its annual gift extravaganza from 6 to 8 p.m. at 8218 Riverside Landing Lane in Navarre. Visitors can enjoy gluten-free gingerbread cookies or cupcakes, spiced apple cider and an array of chocolates laced with peppermint, wild orange and lavender essential oils while watching demonstrations on how to create these treats for their own holiday gatherings and how essential oils can be used during the holiday season. There will also be the opportunity to create and purchase a variety of gifts, including body sprays, room sprays, body scrubs, body butter and more. The gift-making class and refreshments are complimentary; supplies cost $5 to $10 per creation.

To end this holiday series, an Essential Oils of the Bible class will be offered December 9 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at 8218 Riverside Landing Lane in Navarre. Participants will learn why frankincense, myrrh, and other essential oils were brought to the Christ child and how to use those resins today, and how the same essential oils used today were used in biblical times to prevent illness and heal ailments. Bring a Bible and a notepad.
