Gulf Place Hosts Special January Events

Gulf Place on 30A will host several special events in January, including the fourth annual Polar Bear Plunge, the 30A Songwriters Festival and the Snowbird Stroll.

 The Polar Bear Plunge will take place January 1 at Ed Walline Beach Access, located across the street from Gulf Place. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and the plunge begins at 1 p.m., with a costume contest for attendees prior to the plunge and food, music and a bonfire afterward. There is a suggested $20 donation, with proceeds benefiting the South Walton Fire District Department Relations Committee, which purchases fire and life safety items for community-based educational programs.

Gulf Place will be one of several venues for the 30A Songwriters Festival, a four-day event featuring more than 175 songwriters and 200 performances. Gulf Place will host performances January 13-15, from 4 to 7 p.m. For more information, visit 30ASongwritersFestival.com. The second annual Snowbird Stroll will take place January 19, from 4 to 6 p.m. Guests should check in at the Artists at Gulf Place to receive a complimentary commemorative glass and a map of participating merchants. The event will feature live music, giveaways, wine and hors d’oeuvres at more than 15 stops in the Gulf Place neighborhood. The cost to participate is $20. Gulf Place will host a second Snowbird Stroll on February 16, from 4 to 6 p.m.
