Women’s Mini-Retreat Set for Mother’s Day Weekend

Nourish, a women’s mini-retreat featuring yoga classes, satsang, special meals and self-care activities, will be held at Navarre Living Yoga on Mother’s Day Weekend, May 12 through 14.  Led by Kathy Tabb and Natalie Davidson, the weekend event is scaled down to fit most women’s busy schedules, because regardless of their age or stage in life, women tend to be givers, Tabb says. “Women don’t always have the luxury of taking time to go on a retreat,” she says. “So we’re bringing the retreat to them. They can come to the studio for a weekend to unplug and get nourished—a gift they give themselves so they can continue to give to others.”
The tentative retreat schedule begins Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., with restorative yoga, dinner and satsang; continues Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with open-level vinyasa yoga, a lunch-n-learn and self-care activities; and finishes Sunday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. with yin yoga, a Mother’s Day brunch and a closing ceremony.
“This is a weekend to honor women,” Davidson says. “If you are a mom with children in the home, a mom with grown children, a daughter who has lost her mom, a grandmother living away from her children and grandchildren, a sister who has helped raise her sibling, a woman struggling with infertility, a stepmom, an aunt, a friend—we celebrate you all and hold space for you to take much-needed ‘me time.’”
Satsang, expected to be part of the Friday-night schedule, is a way of seeking enlightenment as part of a group. Satsang means “gathering together for the truth” or “being with the truth” in Sanskrit.
The mini-retreat costs $185 and requires a nonrefundable deposit of $100.
