Mothers and Daughters Invited to June Yoga Retreat

Kim Mosby of Sunshine Yoga and Kristy Souto of Yoga Junkie Studios and their daughters are inviting other mother-daughter teams to join them on a special yoga retreat June 9 to 11 at Adventures Unlimited in Milton. The retreat is geared for girls ages 7 to 14 and their moms, but all ages are welcome, as are aunts, grandmothers or other female role models.
“We designed this retreat for mothers and daughters to break barriers, build bridges and strengthen their bond while creating memories to last a lifetime,” Mosby says. The retreat will involve individual and partner yoga practices, themed discussions, walks in the woods and trust-building exercises. No yoga experience is necessary.
The setting and accommodations have “a camping atmosphere with all the comforts of home,” she says. “Each room has hardwood floors, high ceilings, large windows and is furnished with antiques. Each room is air conditioned with a private bath, and four of the rooms have gas fire places. A small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker is in each room as well.” Shared accommodations hold two mother-daughter teams per room. Private accommodations are available for an additional $125.
All meals are included, with healthy vegetarian and meat options, and special arrangements for those with food allergies or specific dietary needs.
Activities will include an opening ceremony, campfire gatherings, daily yoga classes, guided meditation, a ropes challenge course, a mala-making craft and a closing circle. Optional activities available after the retreat for an additional fee include canoeing, kayaking and zip lining. Participants also have the option to stay extra nights for an additional fee.
The cost for the weekend is $450 per mother-daughter team plus $125 for each additional child. The deadline for registration is May 30.
