Natural Awakenings Northwest Florida

New 30A Farmers’ Market to be Held Thursdays Year-Round

June 22 was a landmark day for Emerald Coast locavores. That was the launch date of the new 30A Farmers’ Market at 30Avenue, which will be held Thursdays, year-round, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The market’s setting in Inlet Beach is park-like, with the palm trees, fountains and cobblestone walkways. Market owner Diane Kolopanas says she chose the peaceful locale so shoppers would feel inspired to take their time and visit with the market’s farmers, craftspeople and bakers.

Among the items sold there are certified natural, organically grown and hydroponic produce, fresh from the farm; milk, ice cream and other dairy products; local honey; farm-fresh eggs; grass-fed beef; and chicken and pork.

“We even have fresh local seafood, crab cakes, tuna and shrimp dips,” Kolopanas adds.

Snack foods for sale include homemade hummus, veggie dips, hot sauces, salsas, guacamole and tortilla chips. There are also sides, seasonings and condiments, such as jams, preserves, pickled veggies, marinades and rubs, olive oil and vinegars, and flavored and smoked salts. Homemade pastas and sauces are available, as well as artisan breads and crackers, and desserts from around the world—some of them organic, gluten-free and GMO-free.

“You can take home from-scratch-prepared ready-to-eat foods, and treat yourself to some homemade soaps and lotions,” Kolopanas says. “We also have yummy pet treats for your furry friends.”
