Natural Awakenings Northwest Florida

Obamacare Enrollment Help Now Available Locally

The Epilepsy Foundation of Florida will provide free help, in person or by phone, for anyone who wants to sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act during its open enrollment period, which runs from November 1 through December 31st. Assistance is available in 36 counties across Florida.

EFOF has provided this service during every open enrollment period since the ACA law took effect in late 2013. Its navigators help consumers shop, compare and enroll in health insurance plans on the federal Health Insurance Marketplace. They can also answer questions about eligibility for subsidies to help pay for insurance, or offer help with using health coverage. EFOF navigators are federally certified, state licensed providers of no-cost enrollment assistance.

“With so much misinformation about health coverage and the Affordable Care Act, we’re happy to provide this free help so Floridians can get the coverage they need,” says Karen Basha Egozi, CEO of the Epilepsy Foundation of Florida. “For those facing chronic health issues, those with pre-existing conditions or even healthy people, health insurance can be lifesaving.”

The EFOF’s assistance is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

To make an appointment at a local enrollment site, visit EFOF.org and click on Enroll ACA to find an enrollment center. To get help by phone, call 1-877-553-7453.
