The modern concept of chiropractic extends beyond treatment for back pain, to preventive treatment as part of a healthy lifestyle. The Joint Chiropractic—a national network of 460 walk-in clinics, including a new location in Santa Rosa Commons—has a mission of delivering routine and affordable chiropractic care. 

        Members can visit any location, no insurance or appointment necessary. “Patients may walk in to be seen by a chiropractor for an adjustment whenever is convenient for them,” says Dr. Steven Knauf, director of chiropractic and compliance for The Joint Chiropractic.

The local clinic currently has one full-time chiropractor, Dr. Mark Watkins, and is expected to add more as the practice grows.

Since The Joint Chiropractic is a non-insurance clinic, all patients are welcome. A new-patient appointment costs $29 ($19 for military members/families); minors are eligible for a $39-per-month youth plan; and single-visit or package purchases are also available. According to the clinic, the most popular option for routine care is the wellness plan, which includes four visits per month for $69 ($59 military), with $10 per additional visit. 

The Joint is open 10am until 7 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, with Sunday hours coming soon. The goal is to make quality pain relief and preventive care more accessible, Knauf says. 

“Pain anywhere in the body or the desire to improve your general wellness are great reasons to visit the chiropractor,” he says. “When two or more vertebrae aren't functioning properly, the resulting misalignment can lead to discomfort and decreased mobility as well as chronic symptoms like headaches, sciatica and even ear infections. When the chiropractor realigns the spine, the body and mind can communicate more easily and perform properly.”
