Artists Wanted for New Art and Chocolate Festival (POSTPONED DUE TO COVID-19)

Art and Chocolate, a new art show on Okaloosa Island to be held Mother’s Day weekend, is seeking artists to exhibit and sell their paintings, pottery, fiber works, mixed media, photography, handcrafted jewelry and glass work. All art must be original and made by the artist who is exhibiting; no resales of purchased goods will be allowed.

To make it easier for local artists to share their talents with the public, the festival organizers have kept the cost of booths low, at $60 for a 10-by-10-foot space. The artists keep all proceeds.

“The goal is to create a show that is affordable for both fulltime and part-time artists and creators,” says Anita Vasquez, one of the organizers. “We are also seeking corporate sponsors for the art show at $100 per sponsorship, and chocolate shops are invited to exhibit and bring delicious treats into the mix.”

The show will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 9, at the Emerald Coast Convention Center in Ballrooms A and B. The show is free and open to the public, with a suggested $1 donation to benefit Unity of Fort Walton Beach, which is organizing the show as a fundraiser.
