Stone Soup’s Winterfest Will Help Local Families in Need

Dec 03, 2020 12:58PM ● By Daralyn Chase

Stone Soup, in Fort Walton Beach, will host its annual Winterfest festival on December 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature food, vendors, 3D aura photography, intuitives, healers and other activities. From now up to and including the event, Stone Soup will also be accepting donations to help those members of our community who are struggling financially due to the pandemic or weather events.

“This winter solstice marks a time of need unparalleled in recent history,” says the shop’s owner, Jan Myers. “At Stone Soup, we celebrate the changing of seasons as a community and invite the public to renew and grow with us through love.”

This outreach is in its second year. The festival has a mission to help local families in need, Myers says. “We’re asking for holiday-sized donations for families in our community, who’ve been impacted by COVID-19 and recent area weather.”

Among needed items are blankets; gently used jackets and other outerwear; toys; small kitchen appliances (clean and in good working condition); gift cards (to aid with financial burdens); non-perishable food items; and items for pets. Donations can be brought to Stone Soup through December 19 during regular store hours. Anyone who knows of a person or family in need is encouraged to contact the store at 850-533-6565 or [email protected].
