CoreHealth Introduces Affordable Primary Healthcare Model

Jul 16, 2021 03:17PM ● By Kristy Mayer

A new affordable primary healthcare model has emerged on the Emerald Coast. Larissa Coffey, a nurse practitioner who uses Direct Primary Care (DPC) at her Gulf Breeze clinic, CoreHealth, calls the DPC model “a no-brainer" for people with no insurance or very high deductibles.

“Direct Primary Care allows me to spend time with my patients, get to know them and provide less-expensive health services for a low monthly rate,” Coffey says.

CoreHealth offers memberships for individuals, families and businesses. Coffey says she helps members achieve optimal health through lifestyle guidance and immediate access to medical care. The clinic is not an urgent-care facility or an ER. It’s open by appointment only Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., but members can text, email or call any time for anything, including immediate care needs, to avoid expensive ER visits if possible.

“The foundation of CoreHealth is built on a strong patient-provider relationship centered around wellness and accessibility,” Coffey says. “Patient care is not dictated by an insurance carrier. There are no insurance barriers or contracts. The monthly membership is ultra-affordable and is especially valuable for families and children.”

Other benefits of DPC include access to affordable labs and medications, and time- and money-saving virtual evaluations to determine the severity of a situation or condition. For example, a full physical lab bundle costs less than $38, Coffey says.

“It's an eye-opening healthcare model that’s gaining momentum across the country," she says. "The time has come to make health care equitable across all economic boundaries while maintaining its integrity."
