Bunnychick Haven Offers Healing Through Humane Connections
Bunnychick Haven of Navarre is a family-oriented sanctuary that blends rabbit rescue with community wellness, located just minutes from the Gulf Coast. Founded by Jill Kendrick Wesson, a psychology graduate, Certified WRAP Facilitator and veteran SAP trainer, the haven was born from her deep commitment to compassionate animal care and educational engagement.
“Bunnychick Haven is more than a rescue,” says Wesson. “It’s a healing space where people of all ages can reconnect with themselves through animals, nature and mindfulness.”
Drawing on research that supports the emotional benefits of animal-assisted interactions, Bunnychick Haven offers hands-on experiences that reduce stress, support emotional regulation, enhance focus and encourage empathy.
Open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., visitors are welcomed into a peaceful space shared with rescued rabbits, backyard poultry and gentle barnyard friends. Guests can enjoy seasonal workshops such as Yoga with Bunnies, mindfulness meditation in a sensory garden and creative rock-painting sessions. Educational tours and interactive adoption events teach humane animal care, offer community service opportunities and help build meaningful connections.
“We see transformation happen here every day,” adds Wesson. “The animals do as much healing as they receive.”
