Here’s some exciting community news. Northwest Florida Natural Awakenings magazine is expanding into two editions. This event will have a positive effect on the Gulf Coast health and wellness business and residential communities. Publisher Daralyn Chase, the force behind this decision, says. “If there is one thing I have come to know in the years that I have been visiting the many inspired business people who live and work in our Gulf Coast communities, it is that they are proud of the community they live in and that they have great hope for the health and wellness of their fellow residents. They inspired me to make this leap.”

Chase’s dream is to help health and wellness practitioners to grow their businesses in their community to not only have a prosperous vehicle for the passion each of them has in providing their service or product, but to eventually bring them together for conferences, fairs and festivals. She sees these seemingly individual communities as one natural health community. “All of us who work so hard to help others be well would benefit so much by coming together for great events. We have a unique energy and endless possibilities!” exclaimed Chase.

What this means for the business community is that the local Natural Awakenings magazine will now have a hyperfocus on their local area, rather than all communities all the way from Pensacola to Panama City. Laura Tyree, owner of Dragonfly Yoga, explains: “I was thrilled when Daralyn told me the news. I know this means more space in the magazine for what is happening in our community and I know Daralyn will help the magazines have a flavor all their own.”

The Pensacola area Natural Awakenings will be focused on the Escambia and Santa Rosa county communities, while an Emerald Coast edition will focus on the Okaloosa, Walton, and Bay county communities. All editions will still bring the reader the same national articles that are so relevant to their health and wellness and the wellness of our community and planet.

What this means for the reader is that there will be more room for more local community spotlight articles, more local calendar events and local directory listings for their community. It also means more local advertisers to provide local products and services. When readers choose a magazine, the information will be specific to the reader’s community.

“I love the magazine, and I am excited that I will be able to read the calendar listings and know that those events are minutes away, instead of hours! I am looking forward to reading our community magazine!” says Jeannie Aylsworth, a longtime Natural Awakenings reader.

More good news is that Chase has also expanded the channels of distribution for the printed magazine (a free online edition is available). In addition to finding Natural Awakenings in doctor's offices, health food stores and other convenient locations, Natural Awakenings is now available at most local Publix, CVS and Winn Dixie stores. “I wanted to make it easier for our readers to find our magazine and hopefully, that will make it more convenient for them to point their friends, family and coworkers in the right direction so they can find their own community Natural Awakenings, as well,” states Chase.

Chase hopes the new community magazines and distribution will help more individuals and organizations enjoy the free publication and that from that expanded readership, a NWF Natural Awakenings community will emerge and support future events in the area. “I really enjoy attending events where so many liked-minded people come together and share their passion for a healthy lifestyle and environment. Helping that to happen in our area is high on my bucket list!” exclaims Chase.

Readers and supporters of NWF Natural Awakenings magazine are invited to be subscribers to the online edition at nwfnaturally.com.
