Sea Turtles Celebrated on Pensacola Beach

Every year, sea turtles nest all summer on Pensacola Beach, and then the hatchlings emerge to find their way to the gulf. Locals and visitors can learn more about these creatures of habit at the Sea Turtle Baby Shower, which will be held on August 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Landshark Landing, located at 165 Fort Pickens Road, Pensacola Beach, on the Margaritaville Beach Hotel property.

The Sea Turtle Baby Shower is a free, family-friendly afternoon of games, activities and entertainment intended to educate and celebrate Pensacola’s unofficial mascot. Meg the Mermaid will tell a turtle tale, and participants can take the Sea Turtle Oath, run the Happy Hatcher Relay Race, take advantage of the event’s many giveaways, play the Sea Turtle Survival and Tidy Turtle games, and browse vendor stalls for art, souvenirs and other items.
