Fitness isn’t just about exercise. It’s also about giving the body great fuel. That’s not always easy to do, says Shannon Gore, owner of Lucky Beach Nutrition, in Destin.

“I’ve always been an avid gym-goer and considered myself fairly healthy, but when I started reading more labels a few years ago, I realized how much junk I was putting in my body,” she says. “But it’s difficult to eat well when you live a busy lifestyle. Finding other quick options for foods and beverages that weren’t loaded with sugar or high in carbohydrates, but still tasted great, was a struggle.”

Then Gore walked into a nutrition club and found what she’d been looking for. So she opened her own club, Lucky Beach, specializing in healthy meal-replacement shakes, loaded herbal teas and specialty drinks to boost immunity and overall health.

Lucky Beach’s shakes and teas are naturally flavored and contain botanicals, plant-based proteins, freeform amino acids, vitamins, natural raw guarana, aloes and other beneficial nutrients, she says. The club also offers a National Science Foundation-certified pre-and post-workout line, pea and quinoa protein, and vitamins and supplements.

“My mission is to give healthy options to athletes, people who are trying to lose weight and people who are interested in living a healthier lifestyle,” she says. “Opening my own club has been a huge part of my health journey that I want to share with others.”
