Natural Awakenings Northwest Florida

Yoga Festival and VegFest Join Forces in November

The Mahabhuta Yoga VegFest, celebrating vegan fare, yoga, dance, breath, meditation, nature, music, art and community, will be held November 12 through 14, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Pensacola’s new Bayview Community Center and Park. The event is co-created by Stacey Vann, founder of the Mahabhuta Yoga Festival, and Whitney Hancock, founder of Pensacola VegFest.

In addition to an eclectic gathering of vegan food vendors from across the country, this zero-waste event will feature an artisan village, music concerts, the Galactic Child Yoga tent, flow arts presenters and performers, and Roots to Wings art installations.

“The Mahabhuta Yoga Festival’s mission is to celebrate yoga, elevate consciousness, unite communities, create abundance and inspire greatness; Pensacola VegFest is a celebration of compassionate living,” Vann says. “We are joining together to celebrate our mission of ahimsa to promote peace, nonviolence and respect for all our relations, including the four legged, the two legged, the finned, the furred, the winged ones, the stone people and the plant people.”

There will be more than 40 vegan food vendors; 50 yoga, music and flow arts presenters; and 20 art vendors at the community center and 30-acre park in East Hill, on Bayou Texar. Attendees can receive reduced rates at seven partnering hotels.

This is a ticketed event to enter the festival grounds with a weekend pass. Advance ticket purchases are encouraged. Depending on availability, the weekend pass can be purchased at the gate for an increased rate. VIY (Very Important Yogi) and VIV (Very Important Vegan) Experiences must be purchased in advance. The VIY experience includes access to the VIY yoga workshops and concerts indoors, VIY parking close to the indoor venue, a festival poster, a reusable bag and a cacao ceremony. The VIV experience includes access to the VIV seating area, a festival poster, a reusable bag and an express pass for vegan food vendors.

Location: 2001 E. Lloyd St., Pensacola, FL. For tickets or more info, or to learn about volunteer, vendor or sponsor  opportunities, visit MahabhutaYogaVegFest.com.
