Natural Awakenings Northwest Florida

Stone Soup ISC Offers Halotherapy to Ease Breathing

When Jan Myers added a halotherapy room to her Fort Walton Beach business, Stone Soup ISC, her goal was to offer people a natural way to help detoxify their skin and respiratory tract. She says halotherapy—breathing air infused with aerosolized, pharmaceutical-grade salt—can provide relief from a variety of conditions, from acne and psoriasis to pneumonia and COPD.

“I had a client tell me that after his very first halotherapy session, he could exhale without feeling the need to cough for the first time since he’d recovered from Covid,” Myers says. “He estimated that he was 90 percent better by his second session. He was able to sleep through the night with only an occasional cough and no cough medicine.”

Airborne substances like viruses, bacteria and environmental toxins can damage the cilia that remove mucus from the lungs. Dry salt particles absorb those damaging substances, helping clear the lungs, Myers says. Other respiratory conditions that can be eased through halotherapy include allergies, sleep apnea, snoring, asthmatic wheezing, bronchial infections, sore throat, smoker’s cough, tonsillitis, cystic fibrosis and emphysema. One of Myers’s clients finally got relief from chronic sinus headaches.

“Halotherapy provides both immediate relief and long-lasting benefits,” she says. “A clean respiratory system naturally results in higher oxygen intake, increased energy and an improved immune system. Some clients report less anxiety and tension.”

The halotherapy room at Stone Soup can accommodate two people. Sessions must be booked in advance.

“Always check with your physician before beginning any new treatment,” Myers says.

Location: 314 Carmel Dr., Ft. Walton Beach, FL. To book a session, call 443-801-1532 or 850-533-6565.
