Reduce Stress at Prenatal Massage Workshop

A new workshop for pregnant couples will be held at the Stone Soup Intuitive Spiritual Center, on August 26, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The two-hour session will teach participants how to practice simple massage techniques that help relieve aches and pains, and helps “mom’s” partner be even more part of the pregnancy process.

According to Stone Soup’s newsletter, The Ladle, prenatal massage provides an essential human need that has been severely impacted by the continuing effects of Covid-19—touch. The benefits of massage can provide pregnant women with an overall sense of well-being, better sleep, an increase of oxygen to their muscles and tissues, ease of stress and anxiety, relief of pain and reduced swelling.

Stone Soup ISC instructor Jodie Filler, LMT and Jaclyn Brown, LMT, will lead the course. “We look forward to sharing space with you during such a blessed time in your lives,” says Filler.

The workshop will include hands-on learning, so couples should wear comfortable clothing. Breaks and snacks will be provided for participants, as well as handouts on the benefits of massage for the duration of their pregnancy.

Cost: $50 prepaid to secure a spot. To RSVP, call Jodie at 850-200-7389, or contact Stone Soup’s Healing Hut at 850-533-6565. Location: 314 Carmel Dr. Fort Walton Beach, FL. Turn on the road between Walmart and Lowes off of Beal.
