Natural Awakenings Northwest Florida

Letter From The Publisher

If you attended the 6th Annual 2022 Emerald Coast Holistic Health Expo in September, then you know it was awesome and enjoyed by all as we received feedback from many of the practitioners, businesses, and attendees that it was more than they hoped for. Natural Awakenings magazine came to life during the two days of sharing and caring with over 80 holistic natural health providers and products.

Everything from acupuncture to yoga, and more, was showcased by our beautiful Northwest Florida community. Exhibitors came from Pensacola, Gulf Breeze, Navarre, Ft. Walton, Niceville, and Panama City/Beach, and even as far away as Birmingham, South Florida, and Ohio to share, educate and connect with like-minded natural health enthusiasts and those seeking a different perspective on integrative health modalities and products. Door prizes galore were given away, provided by the many fine exhibitors.

Some of the returning exhibitors from 2021 such as Golden Almond, Wright Parkway Dental, Bodyworks by Bull, Radiant Thermography, and Life Extension, to name a few, continue to support the Expo and our Northwest community.

We also had some amazing new exhibitors who brought with them cutting-edge modalities such as Greenbroke Braintraining, Plant-Based Co., MUV Medical Cannabis Dispensary, The Rutile Ltd, Navarre Acupuncture and Wellness, and PEMF Partners. All these exceptional providers can be found on our Emerald Coast Holistic Health Expo website directory at ECHHExpo.com.

As Expo guests were able to connect with local experts for their personal health concerns there was also much discussion about the connection between health and the health of our earth.

With this edition of Natural Awakenings, we are focused on a healthy planet providing insights and movements towards green living and planetary consciousness.

Our feature story, “Sustainable Sanctuaries”, looks at how to design and build our valued dwellings in more environmentally sustainable, socially impactful and healthy ways. And Nadine Clopton explains one way to integrate our health and the planet is by advancing regenerative

organic agriculture into health care, page 24. Kids are acting as well, as explained in Green Schoolyards, as they learn how to grow along with plants on the playground.

If you what to discover ways you can promote a better environment in your home, check out our Eco Tip column, page 18, The Helpful Nature of Houseplants.

We are delighted to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness month with an article provided by our local expert Candace Palmer, with Radiant Body Thermography, page 20, which provides an understanding of thermography to detect concerns early by applying a safe and accurate type of imaging.

As we also celebrate Halloween this month, we don’t want to forget how scary it can be for our pets, on page 38, we sweeten the holiday with 9 ways to keep your pets safe and calm.

Together let’s make peace with the earth in a symbiotic relationship to improve everyone's health.
