Her interest in holistic dentistry began while she was dealing with health issues that weren’t being resolved using conventional medical practices. “I suffered from chronic neck and TMJ pain,” she recalls. “In my journey to help myself I began learning about holistic health care—particularly oral health and integrative medicine. I was fascinated by the connection of mouth health to body health, which led me to learn more about airways, focused wellness, and a whole-body approach. I really began understanding how dentistry fits into the overall picture. It’s not just about fixing teeth or keeping teeth clean. It’s much more comprehensive than that.”

Dr. Welch has been practicing dentistry in Northwest Florida since 2003 after serving in the U.S. Air Force for over six years. In 2010, she achieved Fellowship status with the Academy of General Dentistry for her continuing education studies. She focuses her continuing education on Temporal Mandibular Joint (TMJ) Disorders, as well as snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) Appliance Therapy. After extensive training and testing, she also earned Diplomate status with the American Board of Craniofacial Pain in July 2013 and Diplomate status with the American Board of Craniofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Medicine in July 2014. She also recently earned her Diplomate status with the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.
