Float Brothers Float Spa, in Destin, has a new owner. Michael Hineline, originally from South Florida, says it was the business he’d been searching for in an area he considers “a dream come true.”  

“I bought this business because I like the people of Destin, love the beaches of Destin and certainly believe in the market of Destin,” he says. 

He recalls a life philosophy instilled in him by Dr. Stephen Happel, his college economics professor: "The more talents you are provided in this life, the more you need to give back."  

“The float business is just that,” Hineline says. “My goal will be to provide value for the local market for individuals that want to take time for self-care and self-love. Floating is a time where we can tune out, put down our cellphones, be still, take a fancy nap, hyper-focus, let go, let be, just breathe, meditate and, most importantly, feel safe.”  

Each hour-long float session takes place in private sound-deprivation pod. The water contains 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt and is heated to a comfortable 93.5 degrees.
