Neurofeedback Therapy Practice Opens in Gulf Breeze
A new wellness practice in Gulf Breeze, Greenbroke Braintraining, uses neurofeedback therapy to regulate and “retrain” brainwaves as a natural way to improve the mind and body.
“I started this company out of a need I saw on the Emerald Coast for people that wanted to regulate their brain, emotions and bodies without having to start or continue taking meds, or that shy away from talk therapy,” says owner Tara Ezell. “My background is in animal training and care; I worked with some of the most ambassador animals imaginable, from dolphins to bears, tigers to primates, and all kinds of domestics. Some of the simplest training of husbandry behaviors appeared to give them a sense of safety and enjoyment through positive reinforcement, which is a form of operant conditioning—the basis of neurofeedback therapy.”
Neurofeedback therapy has been proven to improve neurological-based conditions like ADHD, anxiety, insomnia, depression, PTSD, peak performance, memory loss, TBI, autism, panic attacks and learning disorders, Ezell says.
“You’re completely retraining your brain and its neural pathways,” she explains. “Our brains aren’t hardwired; we have neuroplasticity, which allows us to continue to learn, grow and evolve throughout our lives. You can indeed teach an old dog new tricks. QEEG brain mapping and neurofeedback therapy is rewarding, effective and easy.
